These Bliss Balls are my favourite healthy energy snack. They are gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, and are naturally sweetened with dates. You can omit the chia seed from the recipe and roll them in raw cacao for an elegant healthy truffle.
Ingredients - Makes 12 Servings
- 1⁄4 cup pumpkin seeds
- 2 tablespoons hemp seeds (hemp hearts)
- 2 tablespoons cacao
- 1 tablespoon Camelina Oil
- 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
- 10 large fresh Medjool dates, pits removed
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
Place pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, cacao and sea salt in the bowl of a small food processor. Pulse to combine until the pumpkin seeds are broken down and blended well into the mixture.
Break the dates into smaller pieces and add to the food processor. Pulse until combined. Add the Camelina oil, vanilla extract and orange extract to the food processor. Pulse until fully combined.
Divide dough into 12 pieces. Roll pieces into balls and place on small tray or plate. Place in the fridge to chill.
